International Helmet Day Coming Up! August 18th

As you know, here at Team Ride Safe we put priority on keeping our riders as safe as possible and preparing them in case of an accident. But as you also know, there are always risks associated with this sport and it's important to do everything you can to minimize them and be prepared when they do occur. In addition to always wearing your Ride Safe bracelet (Don't have one yet? Get yours today here!), we can't stress enough how important it is to wear a helmet!! Whether you are hacking out or jumping, whether on a green horse or one you've known their entire life, helmets are so important!

That's why today we want to draw attention to International Helmet Awareness Day, which is August 18-19, 2018 this year! Here is some excellent information from https://www.riders4helmets.com where you can find a list of participating retailers.

What is International Helmet Awareness Day?

In 2010, Riders4Helmets hosted the first national event designed to educate equestrians on the benefits of wearing a properly fitting, secured and certified helmet. The event brought over 300 U.S.-based retailers and eight helmet manufacturers together, to help educate their customers on topics such as correct helmet fit and why wearing a helmet is important.

Since that day, Riders4Helmets expanded the event globally. Riders4Helmets International Helmet Awareness Day 2017 received support from 16 helmet manufacturers and hundreds of equestrian retailers in nineteen countries.

What are the benefits to equestrians?
